Conferences
GAZA typically holds Winter and Summer conferences. Recent topics have included Zoning Law, Annexation Methods, Historic Preservation, Eminent Domain, Sign Regulations, GIS Applications for Zoning, Amending Zoning Ordinances, and Visioning.
GAZA would like to inform you about the upcoming Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector Conference at the Lake Blackshear Resort & Conference Center in Cordele. This training conference is scheduled for November 30-December 3. The conference has been designed to help prepare an individual to take the Property Maintenance and Housing Inspection examination offered by ICC for certification. A block of rooms has been reserved at Lake Blackshear Resort and Club, 2459-H Highway 280 West, Cordele, GA 31015. Make your room reservation directly at 1-800-459-1230 or 229-276-1004. The conference guest room rate for single/double is $109.00 plus state and local taxes. The room block will close on November 10, 2010, or when all rooms are booked, whichever comes first. When the block closes, the special rate will not be honored, and room availability cannot be assured. Check-in is at 4:00 p.m.; checkout is at 11:00 a.m.

The Summer conference is held in various locations across the state - past conferences have been in the Northeast Georgia mountains, St. Simons Island, Lake Lanier, and Savannah.
